AB8000 Quantitative Analysis of Handwriting Pen Tip Force
Price On Application
The Deltapix AB8000 is the world’s first instrument for quantitative analysis of pen tip force, a breakthrough method for forensic handwriting analysis. The system uses focus variation microscopy, low angle lighting, filters and image processing to provide 2D images of strokes, 3D images, trend graphs data sheets, data correlation etc.
The AB8000 takes a multi point sampling of the pen stoke across an individual letter or word and uses variation focus microscopy, variable angle lighting and imaging processing to produce a profile of the sample point. The profile is specific to how the person holds the pen and the pressure applied at a particular angle to form the letter, resulting a quantitative forensic analysis which can be compared against a known or suspect profile.

Handwriting Quantitative Data
- Paper Indentation Depth: This measures the pressure applied by the pen tip on the paper’s surface, reflecting the author’s writing habits.
- Ink Thickness: This indicates whether the pen movement is fluid or interrupted. Simulated signatures often exhibit stops, resulting in greater ink thickness than usual.
- Ink Orientation (Left/Right): This data reveals whether the pen tip is held perpendicularly or at an angle, providing insights into the writer’s habits.
