Regula 7320 combines the entire verification cycle—automated document authenticity checks, data extraction, fingerprint capture, and facial matching—in one compact, fully integrated system. Enhanced UV/IR algorithms, improved illumination, and an optimized optical system provide verification quality comparable to stationary border-control systems, now available in a truly portable format and seamlessly compatible with the Regula IDV Platform.

 

Document reading

Image capturing

A 108 MP main camera and 8 MP IR camera capture high-resolution images in white, IR, and UV light. Optimized colour rendering ensures lab-quality UV images even in ambient light, while improved algorithms prevent IR overexposure—delivering workstation-level document verification in the field.

MRZ reading

The software automatically detects MRZs and validates the extracted data in accordance with ICAO 9303 and ISO 18013 standards.

Visual Zone OCR

The software uses Regula’s comprehensive document template database to interpret layouts and extract printed or embossed information. After processing, the data becomes available for cross-checking against MRZs, barcodes, and RFID.

RFID reading

Obtain textual and graphic data from the RFID chip, perform authenticity checks and digital signature verification to ensure the chip is not cloned or tampered with.

 

Document Verification

Strengthen your document verification workflow with advanced authenticity checks that validate textual data, assess formatting accuracy, and apply precise optical inspections under multiple light sources. Additional cross-comparison of luminescent text with MRZ, barcode, and visual zone information, along with pattern analysis in UV and IR modes, enables you to authenticate a wide range of security features and confirm that the ID is truly genuine.

Cross-data validation

Automatic comparison of data extracted from the MRZ, visual zone, barcode, and RFID chip, supplemented by data format and pattern (mask) checks to ensure consistency and correctness.

White-light authentication

Process includes: photo embedding type check, barcode format check and document image patterns check.

IR-light authentication

Process includes: MRZ print contrast check in compliance with IR B900 Ink, photo embedding type check, IR visibility check of blank and personalization elements and document image patterns check

UV-light authentication

Process includes: UV dull paper check (form, MRZ, portrait), security fibre UV luminescence check, reading UV-luminescent text, document image patterns check.

 

Biometric identification

Face matching

Advanced face matching functionality enables the Regula 7320 to verify a document holder’s identity by comparing the live photo captured by the built-in camera with all available facial images stored in the document. This includes both the printed portrait and the high-resolution image contained in the RFID chip.

Fingerprint scanning

The Regula 7320 allows capturing and saving high-quality fingerprint data using an external scanner, as well as extracting fingerprint information stored in the RFID chip.
